DJ DEVON REX
he/him
Devon Rex is a co-founder of Atlanta Dance Cult. He’s been DJing and throwing parties for 4 years now, and has loved watching how good music and even better people can make for inclusive, unforgettable nights and endless serotonin. Devon holds a residency at the Atlanta Eagle. He’s also played at various other venues and clubs in town, including The Basement, The Hideaway, Heretic, My Sister’s Room, Venkman’s, the High Museum, Georgia Beer Garden, Joystick, A/V Radio, and Guac y Margys. Devon is passionate about non-profit work (particularly queer non-profit work), having DJed for the Human Rights Campaign, Victory Fund, Alliance Theatre, Out Front Theatre Company, the City of Atlanta Division of LGBTQ Affairs, and various queer Atlanta sports leagues.
Devon throws and DJs parties like This Ain’t A Scene Emo/Scene Dance Party, That’s So Fetch Y2K Dance Party, Fat Dog Disco, Wet y Wild, and Weird But F*ckin’ Beautiful: Taylor x Lana Dance Party.
JACOB (aka DJ PIÑATA)
he/him
Jacob is a co-founder of Atlanta Dance Cult and the mastermind behind the Cult’s visuals and marketing. He VJs, decorates, makes graphics & posters, merch, silly things like giant emo heads or hand fans to help survive party sweat, and basically does anything else the Cult tasks him with (usually on a whim) without complaint. You also might catch him as his alter-ego, DJ Piñata, playing a song or two (usually by Marina or Ariana Grande) while the other Dance Cult DJs are otherwise occupied.
